Get to know Peters & Roberge.
Our story began in 1983.
Thomas Peters founded the firm in 1983. Law was his second career: before going to law school, he was a director of mental health services. A Lewiston High School and Bates College graduate, Tom went on to earn a master’s degree in counseling education and then his law degree in 1983.
In November 2021, Mitch Roberge took over the firm as President and sole shareholder. He leads the practice today as its supervising attorney. Tom is now retired and remains of counsel, sharing the experience he gained over decades in practice.

Mitch grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School. His family has lived here since immigrating from Quebec in the early 1900s. His connection to the city reaches well beyond the office.
He previously represented Ward 4 on Lewiston’s Board of Assessment Review. Outside his legal work, he serves as a worship leader at Pathway Vineyard, where he plays bass and helps lead the music.

Alongside Mitch, attorney Lynn Ward brings trial experience and a background in both law and social work. Before joining the firm, she represented clients at Pine Tree Legal Assistance and the Colorado State Public Defender.
Our paralegal and office manager, Tanice Rainey, is often the first person clients meet. She helps with scheduling, questions about office procedures, and court filings.
